Who has written the Bibles and has named them?

Authorities of the Scriptures: The Bible is its own legal power and God is the author and in control of the Bible as in 2 Tim 3:16 "all Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." This text tells us that the Bible is not only its own authority it has power and great influence in lives and many peoples’ lives are changed because of the Bibles.  The following texts tell of God the Author of the Bible did the speaking through men.  Heb 1:1 "God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets."  2 Peter 1:21 "for the prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit."  There were forty authors and 66 books were written over a period of 1,500 years.  The books are called the “Word of God” or the “Scriptures.”  Scriptures means writings.

It is interesting the word “Bible” does not occur in the Bible itself.  It is derived from the Latin Biblia, which came from the Greek biblia or “the little books.” The Greek word biblia in turn is derived from byblus, or papyrus, the name of the material upon which ancient books were written.  The Latin biblia is treated as singular, thus referring to the unity of the Bible as a whole.  The Greek biblia is plural, calling attention to the fact that that the Bible is a collection of many books.  See Funk and Wagnalls’ New Standard Encyclopaedia, 1946 edition.

Where is the real Bible Scripture?  It was lost ages ago.   Fortunately, in the ages, good men sensed the importance of the Bible and the Holy Spirit must have moved them to do so.  They copied the documents and today there are many of these early writings-whole or in parts in the museums and libraries of the world.

Why are there so many conflicts in ideas between the versions as I replied your answer stating in my previous versions?   This is the most difficult question, like choosing the beauty queen in the contest.   The problem of different version goes back a long way to the troubled period of the Christine history.  As Christianity spread far and wide throughout the world the need arose for the translation of the Bible into different languages and versions to meet the need of the people in their common language to make the Bible as simple as possible so that people could understand it in their languages.  The first translation was some where in AD 200.  The most accurate is the “King James Version” the original version is Hebrew & Greek.  The "New King James Version” is in modern English for easy understanding for people of this modern age.  If your Bible happens to be a copy of the New Revised Standard Version or the New International Version of the Revised English Bible or the New Jerusalem Bible etc.  Read all the versions you can obtain.  You will find great good in every one of them.  But be sure as you read to keep listening for the voice of the Author (by whispering a prayer each time you read the Bible).  For through this Book in all its multiplicity of versions and translations God has chosen to speak to human hearts in the entire world.

Since the Bible has such authority the court uses the Bible when the witnesses take their oaths.  When President was reinstated he took his oath with his left hand on the Bible and upholding his right hand before his citizens and congressmen.  During wedding the Bible boy will start off the wedding ceremony with a Bible, which he will present to the officiating minister.  At funeral Bible is also read to the congregation.  At church worship, Scripture Reading represents the Bible, which is the Word of God.

The purpose of the Scriptures being written for us today is to show us the way back to the Creator, our God and Savior, as written in Ps 119:105 “They word is a lamp unto, my feet, and a light unto my path.” The purpose of the Scriptures is found in 2 Tim 3:16-17 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.  That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”
